Here I am! Welcome to my blog, delayedtoddler. My title comes from the fact that my two year old daughter is developmentally delayed in “some form”, but we have yet to receive a concrete diagnosis. Being that it is frustrating to me, I thought there must be other parents out there facing the same frustration and I wanted to be able to share with them. My posts will be about my little girl, “B”, her behaviours, our appointments and progress that we’re making. I’m also going to write about what new tips I’ve picked up and what has and hasn’t worked for her. I would really love comments and suggestions, especially if you’ve gone through something similar!

I will also make use of this blog to share about insensitivities of people to developmental delay, you know, the things that happen, the way people react to my child’s behaviour and how they feel free to vocalize on my parenting skills.

I try to have a positive attitude towards everything and you’ll find that I try to find the humour in the situation. I truly believe that laughter is the best medicine and that there is a silver lining to every cloud.
